Back to School Budget Teacher’s Gift

Note Doubt About It Budget Teacher Gift by Three Little Monkeys Studio Where did summer go?!? I wanted to make a small gift for the kids to give to their teacher and introduce themselves at Meet The Teacher Night, but honestly, I don’t have a lot of time right now and refuse to beat myself up because I didn’t sand, saw and paint something homemade for hours. I have enough Pinterest guilt in my life and don’t need more. There are some amazing ideas shared on Pinterest, and I would love to do some of them, but I know my limits right now. So fast and easy it is! And inexpensive is a nice bonus!

I found these super cute teacher pencils in Target’s Dollar Spot and snagged three packages for each child (there were still plenty of them last week). Regular pencils would be just fine too.

Target had some super cute notepads , but not enough for what I needed, so I ran to my favorite Dollar Tree and grabbed some simple legal notepads. I don’t know the names of my kiddo’s teachers yet. If you do, ordering a personalized notepad would be super cute, but again, time is not always on our side.

So for supplies … I always have card stock, twine, washi tape and ribbon on hand, so I simply packaged the pencils and notepads together with washi tape, wrapped some twine around and added a tag (free download below).

Not super fancy, but practical and at just $2 per teacher, you can’t beat that. Hopefully the teachers will appreciate it, and now they can write me notes about how well-behaved and smart my children are, and how they must take after their mother. 😉

Washi tape can be found online, in Walmart, hobby stores, etc. You can also use ribbon, ric rac … lots of possibilities. I used washi tape so they wouldn’t fall apart in those backpacks, and the twine for some sparkle.

The 2.5×3.5″ tags say “Note doubt about it. It’s going to be a great year with you as my teacher.” with a spot at the bottom for your child to sign his or her name. The background of the tag looks like notebook paper, so I took a single hole punch and punched two holes along the side to keep that schoolish, notebook paper feel. Also has a crayon, scissors and heart doodle for fun.
