I don’t know about your house, but getting three people ready for school in the morning can be a mind-numbingly stressful event. I feel like I ask them if they brushed their teeth approximately 2,384 times and repeatedly beg them to run a comb through their hair before people think we’re growing dreads. They are getting old enough that one would think some tasks could be accomplished with little prompting on my part, but … you know how kids are. <sigh> Good thing they are cute!
To hopefully (fingers crossed) make mornings a little easier, I developed these routine cards which I am sharing as a free download to all of you. I kept the tasks pretty basic, as mine are still youngish with a reader, beginning reader and a preschooler. So images can help when the words don’t make sense just yet.
I made a set for getting ready in the morning, a set for getting out the door for school and a set for bath time.

Print on card stock or matte photo paper, and trim out each 4×4″ card. Frame, tape to mirrors, hang from a bulletin board … whatever works for you. Move them around in the order that works best for your family.
The Basics: “Brush Your Teeth”, “Brush Your Hair”, “Wash Your Face” and “Get Dressed”.
Three of the most important things to accomplish before heading out the door, and then a simple reminder. Before my kids jump out of the car, I always remind them to be patient and kind to others.
As my two oldest have grown a bit more independent, we still struggle with remembering those details.
