Thank you to Zevia for sponsoring this post! #ZeviaSummer #beach #party
The weather is warming and the flavors of Summer are calling! And when it comes to Summer food and drinks, lime calls my name. But, have you noticed how pricey limes have become? So I’ve pulled a switcheroo and subbed something unique for the lime juice in many of the recipes used in this fun Summery Key West Celebration.
So what’s my secret? Mountain Zevia. It is a peppy lime soda that is really refreshing. My kids are addicted to it. Seriously. If I hear “can I have a sooooooda” one more time … but then I give it to them anyway because it truly is that good and has no calories or artificial ingredients. And, I just can’t be a meanie (most of the time).
A Summery Key West Celebration
When I was planning this party, I couldn’t get the thought of key limes out of my head. When I think of limes and Summer, my imagination whisks me away to Key West for a slice of Key Lime pie. Add a sprinkle of Hemingway and the beach, and you get inspiration for a dreamy and relaxing Summer celebration to share with family and friends.
I love entertaining, but what I really love is doing it all on a budget. All of the decor came from Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree to keep costs down, and then I re-purposed items from around the house and used serving pieces, glassware, etc. I already had on hand. I am a cake stand hoarder and a mason jar hoarder. I admit this.
To serve my guests, I used an old desk that was turned into a bar. It definitely helps with that Hemingway vibe! The top drawers were opened slightly and party supplies from Susty Party were propped up so guests could easily grab plates and utensils as they went.
That is a tub of happiness, people. Mountain Zevia is so good. Sorry, Diet Dr. Pepper. You’ve been evicted from my heart.
Just a glimpse of some fantastic desserts around the corner …
This is seriously the best dessert I’ve ever made. It is a No Bake Key lime Cheesecake using my secret ingredient.
This was such an easy cake to make and so flavorful thanks again to that secret ingredient. Get the recipe for the Simple Soda Citrus Cake!
Hello, mojitos made with Mountain Zevia! So, so good. May I have another? Of course you can!
A vintage Key West post card was blown up and printed at Staples for less than $2 to make a simple backdrop.
My favorite DIY: A small mason jar was placed inside round globe vases from Dollar Tree, and then the globe vases were filled with a bag of seashells. They made lovely and inexpensive decor (just $2 each).
Friends and family couldn’t wait to dig in!
This Simple Soda Citrus Cake is definitely something you will want to add to your dessert repertoire.
Susty Party sells the cutest party supplies. All Susty Party products—plates, bowls, cups, straws, cutlery, tablecloths, and napkins—are made from renewable or sustainably harvested materials, and made in North America! You can find them at Whole Foods and other markets. I love that I could throw the plates in the compost bin when the party was over!
